Oil Massage how do you get Massage Oil out of clothes?
My daughter is a beauty therapist, she has almond massage oil stains on her white uniform, any ideas how to get the stains out? I’ve tried Vanish, and it didn’t work, anyone have any ideas??
The trick is to use a hot wash with a good detergent to remove the oil. If you use a cold wash the oil may remain in the fibres.

I personally would prefer a ride in sedan chair, but I’m curious to see how women would prefer to travel – the carriers and sedan chair porters would be provided. Men would pay, women would of course ride for free as they rightfully should.

Personal Massage What is your personal philosophy of massage therapy?
When I was young I thought that way, massage therapy is a turn on to the next step, sex, but being older I realize that massage therapy is a huge step to detoxification of the body. I am so happy that there are such things as a Deep Tissue massage. I ask for one every birthday and christmas and during spring break. That’s when I need it the most.

I want to be a personal trainer or a massage therapist, but my parents want me to go to college. What could I do, which would not require me to work in a hospital?
Here is something to consider. Both a personal trainer certification and a massage therapy certification/license (depending on your state) can be accomplished within a year. Some schools that teach massage also have a personal training certification program. So, the first year into post-secondary education, you can train and explore the idea of being a personal trainer and a massage therapist. After that first year, you will have available to you very flexible and very profitable part-time opportunities with personal training and massage. [Compare this to a $6-$9 per hour job in food service, etc. You could be spending less time working, earning $15-$30 per hour depending on the situation.] Then, the second year of schooling can be dedicated to a degree track (i.e. pre-physical therapy, pre-med, etc.) which will further strengthen your knowledge in the sciences behind the personal training and massage work you are already putting into practice. A business degree can even complement what you are doing if you want to manage or own a business. Look at the trade schools as a beginning rather than an ultimate career. I agree with your parents that you should complete college since those years you are in college teach you much more about life beyond the academics. Many students take 5-6 years to finish a bachelor’s degree anyway. However, at the end of your 5-6 six years you would have a personal training certification, a massage license, a bachelor’s degree and roughly 4-5 years of practical experience, if you followed this plan. For a new college grad, this would be very, very marketable for either a career decision or even additional schooling (PT school, MED school, Chiropractic College, etc.). There are many healthcare opportunities available without needing to work in a hospital. Best wishes…

Yes, I just fell yesterday on ice and had a concussion and lots of back and neck pain. I went to my obgyn last night to check on the baby and she suggested I use a heating pad for the pain.
I have one on those things that you put over your chair and they heat up and vibrate. Do you think these things are ok to use during pregnancy? I’m not sure if the heat will affect my baby or not. I can’t adjust the heat but it makes my back feel a whole lot better at work! I didn’t think it would be an issue but my parents are telling me not to use it!
The heat is fine, just try not to fall asleep on it as pregnant women may not move as much in their sleep.
Hot showers are also fine, you just don’t want to do anything that will raise your core body temperature. A heating pad won’t because so much of you is not covered.

Can I sell my client list if I am relocating my business, but not closing my doors?
I am a licensed massage therapist and I have relocated my business 30 miles from my prior location. I was considering selling my client list, but I can only find information regarding selling a client list if I am going out of business entirely, not just relocating.
Also, I cannot guarantee the current accuracy of some of the names and addresses. I cannot guarantee that the new therapist will even get any business from my lists. Could they take legal action if they feel that they didn’t get their money’s worth?

Neck Massager Are there any home remedies for a pulled muscle in the neck?
I pulled a muscle in my neck and have went to the chiropracter, tried heat & ice, brought a Dr.Hoe’s double massager off TV for $150 (which I am returning because it doesn’t work).

heating pad and a wet towel has worked for me. You can’t get rid of all the pain but you can lessen it to a more liveable level.

Unfortunately the answer is No. Hair growth is determined mostly by genetics (95% I’d say?) the other 5% would be made up of what you eat (proper nutrition will help hair growth) and what you apply to the scalp. While massage for the scalp is very healthy, (it increases blood flow to keep existing hair follicles health) it doesn’t actually make your hair grow. I recommend using some Jojoba oil (just a few drops) to work into the roots at night, it is the kind of oil that is closest to your natural oils, so it won’t clog pores.
