I got a tattoo yesterday on my hip . I go to the tanning bed . How long do i have to wait before i can go? Is the tanning bed going to make my tattoo fade?
At least a month.
Why would you want to destroy your skin with a tanning bed? Plus destroy the new tattoo. Plus get skin cancer at a young age.

Till the apocolypse. Unless maybe if you put a lot of high SPF sunblock on the tattoo, but the sun or a tanning bed will fade it if you don’t.

Does anyone know the accuracy of Omron Body Logic Hand Held Body Fat Monitors ? I have been using a scale that told me my BF%, and today my trainer used one that uses the same technology, except it is handheld. Well, interestingly enough, the scale has been saying I am 27% body fat ( even though I am 125 and run and work out 4 days a week), but today, the handheld said I was 17.5%!!! To my shock–obviously! my only question is–How accurate is it? Any input would help. Thanks!

Do you remember this old video player thing from the late 90s, early 2000s?
They were really popular when I was a kid. They were handheld video players, With a little screen and a body that opened up to put in the disc. I remember, there were a couple different kinds, one color, one black and white. The color was more expensive. And you bought these weird little discs for them. They were a little bigger than a GameCube game, and they had shows and stuff on them. I remember I had the Spongebob “Bubble Bowl” episode on there. They were really stupid, and cost too much, and for the life of me I can’t remember what they were called. Can anyone help me out? It’s killing me.

Why do people use fitted sheets in the US?
Almost everyone in the US uses fitted sheets on their beds but in Europe it’s all flat sheets? Why is that? What’s the difference? It’s hard to even find fitted sheets in the stores in some countries. Isn’t that a weird difference?
In England you buy two flat sheets. They are longer and you tuck them under like in a hospital or a hotel in the states. I know the difference between the two kinds of sheets I just wonder why the fitted sheets aren’t more popular in other places.
I live in the USA and am 60 years old. When I was young we only had flat sheets as well. The fitted sheets stay firmly in place on the mattress while the flat sheet tends to pull out and makes the bed look sloppy. The only issue with fitted sheets is that it takes a little patience to get the hang of folding them. In the US the flat sheets are made smaller than they were in the past and are now loo small to be able to be tucked in all around the mattress.
Bed Table Time table for BEd primary cource at University?
I am a mature student, and am contemplating doing a BEd primary cource at uni next year, but am worried about the time table because i have 2 kids ages 3 and 7, and live about 90 mins from the nearest uni. Although i am going to move closer to the uni, i would like to hear from anyone who has done this cource, to find out what hours i will be looking at.
I would love to hear from NQTs, to also tell me whether primary teaching is what they expected/anticipated please.

Would it be better to do a degree first, then a PGCE?
it is incredibly tough. In four years I spent of 40 weeks teaching full time (unpaid). I was planning for at least two hours a night during these placements.
University wise the workload is also very high. 10-25 assignments depending on the year, 15-20 hours per week in lectures. The drop out rate on my course (Demontfort University Bedford, now University of Bedfordshire) ran at over 50%.
Saying that though the mature students did very well. All juggled families and jobs. It is tough and the journey times will make things difficult.
Chances are the uni will put you on school placement near your house if you request. (Worth doing or you’ll have a 6am wake up). The uni should be able to help with a nursery for your youngest.
I know it sounds silly but make sure you volunteer in a primary school first it will help with your application no end and give you a real test of school life. Hope this helps good luck.

Please do not do a PGCE, the course does not prepare you at all for teaching, good schools do not employ people who have taken that route. I have it on good authority that when schools are accepting applications from NQT’s two piles are formed, BEd and PGCE the latter tend to end up being recycled. I don’t want to sound arrogant but the PGCE was a short sighted initiative by the Government which is fantastic in the secondary sector but massively flawed in the primary sector. A BEd will get you a job (98% find employment in their NQT year,I think it’s about 50% for PGCE).

Set Natural Do I need to dry and straighten my natural hair to roller set it or should it stay wet?
I wanted to know if I needed to straighten my hair to do a roller set or if I can start the roller set after I wash it while it is still wet. Does it matter either way. I am natural
If I straighten it I am still gonna use some setting lotion or leave in conditioner to set it I just want to know if it needs to be straight first. I want a spiral set I am gonna flat twist the hair up and have it come down the middle in a spiral set.
Wet hair has more elasticity, so roll it while still damp. That way you get a good stretch to conform to the roller and as it dries it’s going to shrink back a bit and retain the smoother rolled look better than using all the heat. Put a little tension on it when you roll, don’t pull so hard and wind so tight that it hurts but do use some tension. And don’t use brush rollers, they can break and damage the hair shaft. those plastic bristles are extremely sharp at the end if you ever look at under a microscope.
roller sets last much longer and give much firmer control than dry sets or heat styling without the damage.
Also use a good setting/styling product before rolling, something with cyclomethicone, dimethicone, any word ending in
-cone. It’ll give it a smooth shine and help protect the hair especially in dry indoor heat.

In the NorthEast, due to the extreme freeze/thaw cycles, you really should have a full basement under your house. You risk losing your investment by opting for the cheaper route of a concrete slab, which is only acceptable in more moderate climates. The concrete will expand and contract with the heat of summer and the cold of winter, will then crumble, and your house will then settle unevenly. -Concrete is porous and allows water to infiltrate -In my opinion, it has no place in the building trade: it causes wood rot and problems with termites and everything. Using a concrete slab may lead to anything from cracks running up through your drywall to having your house list and bow and a possible structural failure if severe enough.
Your new home really does deserve a full basement. Excavation should only add about $3000 to the final cost versus a concrete slab installation. You can leave the floors earthen and have them finished later if money is a concern. Be sure to test for radon, though.
I considered going the route that you are because I wanted to live in the country, but the costs of infrastructure were so high that I ultimately decided on a previously constructed house.
If you still do decide on the slab, make sure that you use the good quality mix (ask for the weight-bearing stuff that has tested out to support the weight of your house -Lowe’s can help you with that). I think they recommend @ least 3 feet, but I would seriously try to make it @ least as deep as the frost level, for the same reason as the full basement.
