Chair Heat
Can I use one of those microwave heat bags on my lower back in early pregnancy?

I have period-like pain and need some relief as I am sitting on my uncomfy chair working on my uni assignment.

Of course it is, just don’t make it too hot. Hot water bottles are good too. Also sometimes if your feet are a bit cold that can make the pain a bit worse so make sure you have some socks or slippers on.

Barres syndrome. I need financial help w/ bills and other than the standard social security, is there a way to raise money to help my medical and other bills not to mention the wheel chair and physical therapy I will need to walk again?
I AM 34 AND DON’T QUALIFY FOR MEDICARE, SORRY

look into medicaid

each state has different medicaid programs
some are for people with diabilities
some are for low income-which you may be if you can’t work

SSDI is only if teh disability is expected to last at least a year–and will take months to get

contact vocational rehab

call teh state dept of disabiity services–there are adaptive equipment clearing house–soome things are free some are cheap (used)

also –call United Way

if you do get SSDi–after 2 years i beleive you get medicare

due to the nature of you illness-not knowing if it will be short or long term-i’mnot sure how these programs work

Chair Recliner
Has anyone bought a chair from Recliner World Online?

Please no silly answers.

I have – but I won’t do it again. The shipping was reasonable, but only because the chairs were of fairly low quality. My recliner doesn’t recline anymore. Now it’s just a chair (and I’ve only had it 6 months) and they won’t take it back.

Bad choice in my book. But good luck though :)

How do I get rid of human urine odor on a recliner chair?

Don’t laugh, but it’s called Pet Puddle Magic Powder, and you buy it at www.vhmagic.com. It is really meant to take pet urine odor out of carpets, upholstery and dog beds, but if it can do it for dogs it should do it for humans too! Just dampen the area, sprinkle on the powder and let it dry for a day or two. Vacuum it off, and the odor is gone.

Is there a good massage service in Mexico city ?

I am looking for a masseur that makes house calls preferably with a portable table. Any recommendations ? Please only someone “safe”, don´t want to let just anyone in. Thanks

What is the best way to cool a closed-in room?

I will be doing massages in a room that has NO ventilation and no windows. I am looking for an economical way to cool/airate the room so it is not so stifling. A simple fan will not cut it, but from what I’ve seen, portable air conditioners are outrageously expensive. Any ideas?

You can get a wall unit AC for relatively cheap, but you’ll have to cut and frame out a hole in the wall for it. That may be more than you can do. You can also get a stand alone unit that just has a small exhaust vent like a dryer has. You can get those for around $300. Here’s one that will cool up to 400 square feet for $369.00. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100591717&N=526378+90401 I’m not sure if that’s what you consider outrageously expensive or not. I know that some can get up there in the $800 range and wouldn’t be practical.

Gravity Perfect

Gravity Perfect
How to Calculate Acceleration Due to Gravity using Einstein’s General Relativity?

Firstly, I know a ton of you people are going to give me Newton’s theory of Universal Gravitation and then Newton’s Second Law. If you give me this, I will be angry at you. I already know those formulas and those equations.

I made a formula to calculate the Final Velocity of a Rocket after having burned a certain amount of fuel, and it is incorrect because Newton’s equation is wrong. I want to make it perfect, I am a perfectionist.

Using Einstein’s general relativity to answer such a simple question rather than Newton’s law of universal gravitation is pointless. The scientific community does not care about perfect numbers that’s why they invented significant figures. But, seeing as though you are rather persistent here’s the equations you need:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_relativity

Just scroll down the equations are there. Good luck.

Would the lower gravity of the moon be the perfect place to build a dry dock to build larger spacecrafts?

I think it would be a natural spot because of the lower gravity, giants space ships 3 time the size of the shuttle could be built there.

It would be a great place to mine the raw material, but it is not necessary to build a spaceship in the confines of any gravity well such as the Earth or moon. A mass driver powered by solar energy could be used to ‘throw’ raw materials off the surface of the moon and be captured in space, then again be refined at a space factory at one of the Lagrange points, L5 for instance and made into spacecraft, space stations or whatever else we would need. We could even ‘harvest’ comets and asteroids in a similar way. (Comets rich in water and organics would be desirable).

Helium 3 could be mined from the moon to fuel fusion reactors here on Earth, as well as powering fusion powered spacecraft to the planets and perhaps eventually to the stars.

ladies would you still date a guy after you witnessed him laugh and name call a young girl with Leukemia?

Like he started to make jokes towards this young girl in a wheel chair whom is suffering painful kemo therapy treatments. Making fun of the fact that she has no hair or eyebrows, and calling her a freak causing her to cry.

Would you still date the guy, knowing he is mean spirited but the same time extremely good looking.

Nope. You can tell a lot about people by how they treat others. He may be nice to you now, but he’s just going to end up treating you like that. Also, looks aren’t forever. If you are looking for something long lasting, he needs to have a good personality.

Massage therapy vs Certified Nursing Assistant?

I’m a 20 year old male. Strong hands and a strong sense of altruism are some of my features.

Ive thought about becoming a massage therapist through a local program taught by Memorial Hermann. After learning the main program, I would also build on my knowledge by taking additional training offered through the same organization in sports massage, Cryostreych/Cryokinetic Therapy, Deep Tissue and chair massage.

However, being male, I am sure finding steady employment will be a challenge.

This then brings me to the occupation of Certified nursing assistant. More demand, and steadier employment, but less money, I think.

Which one would be a good choice?

Thanks.

You can do both.

The Massage training will take longer.
You can consider Sports Medicine as a male –work on Athletes that require more strength in massage and other modalities–could be w/ a Sports clinic or a team or a school program–College.
Later you could also teach.

The training for a Certified Nursing Assistant–CNA–is about 6-8 weeks. As a male you are good for the Heavy Duty work of many patients, Nursing homes employ many male CNAs. There is also Assisted Living Communities that don’t require CNA certification yet. They train you as a Care Manager and you do many of the same duties.
You are right, the pay is much less but more dependable hours. The work is also not easy but rewarding however

You could work part-time as a Massage therapist and full-time as a CNA or the reverse. You would get a steady income as well as gravy money for the other job and do good at the same time.

Also consider a Chiropractor as a place to work, many use them as part of a treatment plan.

Best wishes

Chair Lounger
Anyone know how to repair the ratcheting mechanism on those lounger-type lawn chairs?

The symptom is that the ratchet doesn’t “click” and hold in either certain positions or sometimes in any position. Every chair like this I have ever owned has eventually had to be discarded because the ratcheting mechanism broke. Links to an illustrated site that details how this can be repaired would be much appreciated.

Because got $9.95 you can by an entire new chair, not worth fixing. Try maintance with wd-40 on your new one and it will last longer.

massage chairs?

I’ve been looking for a good Massage Chair for under $800 (preferably less) with the Leg Massager. I’m interested in the ijoy 320, but I can’t fint it for under $999 anywhere! Any suggestions?

I did find an ijoy 100 with ottoman for $500+ but I haven’t tried the ijoy 100. Is it worth it?

I purchased on for $250 on special at Kmart reg price was $450 however it does the complete body in pulsating vibrations. The type of massage you want depends on what your personal preference is. My son has a chair insert $250 which gives a shiatzu style massage. My advice is to watch out for specials, ask stores for their best offer and offer cashe, you’d be surprised how far they can drop something. Try ebay, if all else fails suggesst to your family and pitch in and pay for some of it for you for Christmas.

Ijoy Ottoman

Have you tried the ijoy ottoman 2.0?

I want to get it for my parents. What is your opinion if you have tried it?
I saw that..i think the leg massager is basically the same thing, but connected to the chair..does any of your friends have problems with the fit for their legs?

I haven’t tried the ottoman, but some friends of mine have an iJoy massage chair at their home. It’s upholstered in soft leather and has all kinds of massage options, from shiatsu to lumbar, as well as a separate footrest where you can rest your calves in it and have them massaged with optional heat.

Remote control wired to the thing lets you control the massage and other stuff. Cool product.

EDIT: Not really, my friends are a couple around 5’9″ or so, average weight, they’re comfortable with the fit and so was I but I’m not sure if the leg width is adjustable.

Massage Chair
What is the best Portable Massage chair on the market?

I need a portable massage chair to use at an office to give short massages. I have used the Stronglite brand and found that it is ok, but I do not like how difficult it is to put back in the case. I think the other brand I have used was Ergo Lite (?) and it didn’t feel stable enough. I want something light weight, stable, easy to set up and break down, and hopefully under $500. Any suggestions are welcome even if they aren’t completely perfect.

Oakworks. They have the best design, best construction, best quality and best ease of use. They cost a little more and weigh slightly more comparatively, but you will enjoy the stability, durability and ease of adjustments it offers. I believe most are under $500 if you don’t get too crazy with upgrades of vinyl, padding or accessories.

You may even be able to find a discounted product from the factory, or a “pre-owned” version on auction sites. Buyer beware, though.
