Benefits of Tuesday Night Xbox vs. Workout Program

Posted in Fitness Equipment by Javier Convery on January 17, 2012

I had no idea what I was getting into when my wife walked into the house one day with a look of confusing on her face. I should have known better and casually continued to play World of War Craft but instead I asked her what was wrong.  Without taking a breath for no less than 4 minutes my lovely wife told me about a new fitness program that her co-worker started and how quickly she was getting into shape.  She seemed angry and again I did not learn my lesson and asked her what the big deal was.

Apparently, this fitness program would mean she needed to spend Tuesday night at the local gym from 6 to 8:30 and this is the time of her favorite TV show. After reminding her of this lovely thing called DVR her annoyance suddenly turned into excitement. I also became excited to know my Tuesday nights would be just me and my Xbox.

I did not think much of it for several weeks. Tuesdays had come and gone without incident. I was enjoying myself and she seemed to be having a good time as well. There were even other nights were she would escape into the bedroom for a half hour here and there. I figured she was just doing jumping jacks, or sit-ups.

It was not until about 8 weeks later I heard her come in with a jingle echoing every step. It is not every day a man hears bells every time his wife walks so I went to check what was going on. As I turned the corner I see her removing the bottom to a belly dancing skirt and placing it into her bag. Surprised I asked her what that tiny skirt was. She explained the fitness program was a belly dance class. After seeing what she had learned over the 2 months I found it funny to think that a belly dance class was a recipe for happiness for both her and me.

We All Feel The Need To Get Fitter

Posted in Fitness Equipment by Lonnie Simmers on November 9, 2011

Many of feel the need to get ourselves fitter, we feel as though if we could just improve our overall fitness then we would feel much better in ourselves. So it is worth looking at which fitness equipment is available that will help you to accomplish this in the shortest possible time.

Why the shortest time? Think about it, if you start to see some really good results from some kind of fitness training, or general exercise, it will spur you on to even greater things. Well hopefully it will any way, so think about what you would enjoy, and not find too much of a chore to do as an exercise regime. It is also worth thinking of a suitable reward that you could give yourself when you accomplish your goals, perhaps a new carnival costume 2012 would do it.

This is a good way to help your motivation, but if you find exercising a difficult thing to fit in, or you need to give it a boost, why not try a Slimming Belt. These can help speed up any weight loss, and also help you to feel trimmer. Any thing that has this effect is certainly worth a try. You can wear a slimming belt while you are doing a workout at the gym, this will also help to support your back too. Why not give one a try?

Owl Figurine – Perfect Mimento for a Bird Lover

Posted in Fitness Equipment by Clayton Yonker on September 24, 2011

Every year in October the National Seashore Park on Cape Cod, Massachusetts hosts a midnight birdwatching tour to go in search of a Screeching Owl. When my now 30 year-old nephew Ben was 5, we decided to go.

That was quite an adventure for a small boy. While there is no guarantee that the tour will actually see (or hear) a screeching owl, the tour itself is a worthy adventure. It’s dark and the tall forest is very spooky. You walk with just flashlights pointed at the ground to keep you from tripping. You don’t want to scare the owls so you don’t point them up in the air.

Well we did get to hear the screeching owls. It was very impressive. I think everyone there (including the tour guide) jumped with the first screech was heard. What an adventure! Then multiple screeching owls were heard. Ben’s hand grabbed mine so tightly. Well we survived and it’s become one of our favorite memories. Now that he has his own son, he can hardly wait to bring him on the tour.

I gave him an owl figurine for a special keepsake Christmas present that year. It was the start of a small figurine collection for him, that represented our most special memories each year. When I visited him and his wife at their new apartment, I was delighted to see the cute figurines displayed in his son’s bedroom.

Construction Vehicles

There are several different types of construction vehicles, and each one has its own special purpose. Construction vehicles might also be referred to as heavy equipment or engineering vehicles. The major types of construction vehicles include dump trucks, excavators, bulldozers, graders, front-end loaders, and backhoes. There are other specialized types of construction vehicles, too, but these are the ones most frequently used for general construction jobs.

Dump trucks – Dump trucks carry materials to and from work sites. This might include rocks, sand, or rubble. A lift mechanism raises the truck bed so that the contents of the truck can be “dumped.”

Excavators – Excavators have a large arm and a bucket that’s used for digging, dredging, landscaping, and moving heavy materials.

Bulldozers – Bulldozers are construction vehicles with a heavy metal blade attached to the front. Bulldozers are used for moving materials by pushing them. Bulldozers come in different sizes, and smaller models are sometimes referred to as “calfdozers.”

Graders – Like bulldozers, graders have a metal blade that’s used to push and scrape. Graders are generally more precise than bulldozers and are often used to create flat surfaces for roads, fields, and construction pads.

Front-end loaders – Front loaders are equipped with a large scoop on the front that’s capable of removing loose materials from one place to another. Front loaders can also be equipped with special attachments like grapplers for lifting specific items.

Backhoes – Backhoes are equipped with a large digging arm and a front loader. These construction vehicles can be used for a wide range of jobs, including general construction, stump removal, plumbing, and farming.
