Inexpensive Beauty Tips for Your Day-to-Day Life

Posted in Beauty by Cody Vanriper on April 23, 2012

Looking beautiful does not have to be associated with the amount of money that you spend on expensive cosmetics and clothes. You can still look beautiful and fresh, even if you do not have much time to spend on yourself. With some simple tricks and natural products, you can easily improve the way you look.

1)    Balanced Diet: The foremost step in looking beautiful is to have a balanced diet. Most of us are only worried on how you look on the outside. However, we fail to understand that we can look great from outside only when we are healthy and fit from the inside. Cosmetics can only make you look good from the outside and will only cover your external flaws. A healthy diet will help you get the required nutrients and minerals which are needed to keep your hair, skin, nails and eyes healthy. Your diet must ensure that the six vital nutrients are available in your diet which is the vitamins, carbohydrates, fat, protein, minerals and water. You should always include enough fruits, vegetables, yoghurt, grains, fortified cereal and pasta in moderation. Always keep your body hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

2)    Honey: Honey is one of the most common components found in shower gels, soaps, facial masks and in shampoos. It is a great natural product that has been used to enhance beauty. Honey is good for both your skin and hair.

3)   Exercise: With regular exercise, you can lose weight and your skin will also benefit from this. Exercise is a great way to lower the acne breakouts and it will also help to fight aging. Workout helps to enhance the Blood Circulation in skin and reduces the activity of the adrenals by decreasing the stress level in your body. Exercise also acts as the perfect way to plump up the skin by boosting the natural collagen production.

4)   Cucumber: This is a product which is also used in high-end beauty spas and salon and is a great component that acts as a beauty aid. Cucumbers have a very intense cooling effect and its astringent qualities can exclusively help you in reducing the puffiness of the eyes and also acts as a coolant to tired eyes. With the regular use of cucumber, you can definitely ease the appearance of eye bags. All you need to do is to take two cucumber slices and you can place them on top of your closed eyes for 10 to 20 minutes.

Always make sure that you use only cosmetic products that contain natural components. Cosmetics are expensive products but by making use of deals, you can easily save big on products when you shop online.   Elf coupon codes are some of the most popular for inexpensive, yet high quality cosmetics for the beauty conscious consumer.

What Kind of Bath Robe Should You Bring to a Spa?

Posted in Slimming & Fitness by Cody Vanriper on February 14, 2012

There’s nothing like a trip to the spa. You can spend hours simply relaxing in therapeutic settings, get a massage to relieve stress, and everyday aches and pains. The problem some people have with getting a massage is that they don’t like the idea of lying half naked on a table. This is why spa bathrobes can be quite handy. Since there are so many styles of bath robes available, how do you know which one will be appropriate for a visit to the spa?

Spa robes are made from different materials. There are luxurious spa robes made with cotton terry on the lining and micro fiber on the outer shell. There are also Egyptian and Turkish cotton robes available, which offer good water absorption. If you’re going to spend a lot of time lounging near the baths or Jacuzzis, then an Egyptian or Turkish cotton robe is ideal. Cashmere robes are considered to be highly luxurious and sophisticated. These are ideal for spas located at winter resorts.

If you’re planning on getting a massage, then you’ll need a robe that will allow you to uncover your shoulders, while still maintaining modesty. A spa wrap towel is a good option, since it’s sleeveless and only comes down to the thighs. You don’t need a robe with a collar or hood if you want a massage.

You will need a robe with durable stitching. After all, you don’t want it to tear up in the washer. You should be able to wear it often without worrying about tears or rips. A robe with double stitching is always a good choice.

Bath robes vary in style. The right style for you depends on your own personal preferences. Just make sure that the fabric and design are ideal for the type of spa you wish to visit.

As long as you keep these factors in mind, you should be able to find the right bath robe for your spa trip!

Should You Consider Hair Implantation To Deal With Thinning Problems

Posted in Slimming & Fitness by Cody Vanriper on January 16, 2012

Thinning hair and hair loss in women used to be something that was not talked about in polite company.  That is, if a woman was experiencing a problem with her hair the fact was supposed to be kept under wraps, literally.  The only choice she had to deal with this problem was to buy a wig and pretend like everything was OK.

This is no longer acceptable for today’s women because they do not want to be tied down to sitting around worrying about whether or not their wig is going to fall off.  They want to be out there living life and doing things their mothers and grandmothers only dreamt of.

Will Hair Implantation Help You

Hair implantation has been used for male hair loss since the 1950’s.  Most of the results in the early years were not very acceptable but new techniques kept being devised and by the 1990’s a technique called direct hair implants was developed which made it possible to transplant individual hairs.  This gave much better results than the old method of removing slivers of scalp from one area and then sewing them in another.

When women start to lose their hair it can happen in two distinct ways.  First, they will see thinning over their entire scalp.  This problem does not lend itself to hair implantation techniques because there is no area with thick hair left to act as a donor site.  The second problem, patches of balding, can be dealt with effectively because hair shafts from unaffected areas can easily be transplanted into the thinning areas thus giving the appearance of a full head of hair again.

The first step to determine if you are a good candidate for this type of hair implant surgery is for you to talk to your primary care physician and ask for a referral to a hair clinic.  Your doctor can help you make the correct choices.

Do Not Neglect Inner Beauty

Posted in Health And Wellbeing by Cody Vanriper on December 21, 2011

Beauty is a priority for everyone. The market for cosmetic products, Skin Care essentials, bath products, and so many other accessories for both women and men is huge enough to be considered a substantial chunk of the retail market. Billions of dollars worth of purchases are tallied yearly by traditional and online retailers of beauty and wellness products.

Many studies have shown that self-esteem and confidence are related to how someone views their personal beauty and look. When someone is confident about their looks, their skin, their general appearance, they tend to perform better at work, relate better with people, and have a generally better sense of what they can do because of that boost of confidence. On the other hand, uncertainty about personal appearance can hamper productivity and stifle opportunities for development.

Fitness centers, gyms, and exercise equipment have also become part of daily routines as more and more people strive to achieve that perfect physique. After all, what good would many beauty products on your skin be if you are not in shape, right? Conveniences and easier ways of achieving that great body such as at-home routines, supplements, and ab belts are also being marketed heavily. They are also more affordable, with special promos offered such as the flex belt coupon for free shipping or discounts.

The prioritization of personal appearance does not have to be excessive or harmful to your personal well-being, because there are benefits that can certainly be obtained such as a healthier and stronger body if you work out, or delaying skin aging if you use creams and topical treatments. Outward appearance, however, cannot fill that need for fulfillment, achievement, and true happiness. What we need to remember is to also make the inside grow and develop in step with any improvements for the outside.

The Most Expensive Eye Makeup In The World

Posted in Makeup Products by Cody Vanriper on December 6, 2011

Yesterday, I saw something that I never before thought possible – makeup that costs over $1000!  Don’t take me wrong, I like to spend money on makeup, but anything that would require me to go take out a $1000 cash loan just to pay for just isn’t worth it.  You want to know the saddest part of the whole experience?  There were three, yes three, people in line who were PURCHASING THE MAKEUP!  For someone who spends at the most $100 on any makeup, I just really couldn’t believe it.

Ok, so some background so you can understand why someone would go into debt for some makeup:

I was traveling in Beverly Hills and decided that I had to go to Rodeo Drive and do the ‘Pretty Women’ thing and do a little window shopping down Rodeo Drive.  I went in about four stores before I realized that I didn’t really belong.  All the workers were looking at me like “Yeah, she’s not buying anything”…and they were right, especially at the Gucci store (which is where I found the makeup that is outrageously priced).

Of course, most everyone who was there to actually purchase something is in a different financial position than I am, but really – does anyone need to spend that much money on anything that you will wash off at night?  I don’t think so.  So, being as outgoing as I am, I decided I would ask someone why they were purchasing that makeup.  Bad decision.  The first person I asked just turned their nose up (literally, I never realized that people actually do that) and the second pretended I didn’t exist.  The third person who finally answered game me a typical “dumb blond” (no offense, I’m blond) answer of ‘why not’?

Bottom line and what I learned: I don’t belong in Beverly Hills, and will sit band and enjoy where I’m at just fine.

Your Health and Wellbeing Is Important So Get Checked Today

Posted in Health And Wellbeing by Cody Vanriper on November 21, 2011

When did you have your last check up with your doctor? Your health and well being is important and you should get checked out at least every couple of years.  If you are a female, you should have an in-depth physical exam every year.  The earlier you catch most illnesses the better but in cases where these illness can affect fertility, it is vitally important that they are diagnosed early.

So what should your physical involve?  At the very least you should have a long chat with your doctor and highlight any concerns you may be having. You know your body better than anyone else. Your doctor should arrange a pap screen and perhaps an ultrasound.  A vaginal ultrasound can help diagnose common but painful conditions that could impact on fertility.

Don’t worry as you will be in good hands with the ultrasound technician and the technology doesn’t hurt or cause any damage. Depending on the type of scan being done, it may be slightly uncomfortable and a little embarrassing but compared to childbirth and other issues us females go through it is a walk in the park.  Your technician is very well qualified and trained to help your physician diagnose and treat any conditions you may have.

So try to relax and remember that getting checked out is the best way to look after your health. Don’t leave it until symptoms first appear or existing ones get worse.

Keeping Your Skin Soft During the Winter Months

Posted in Beauty Therapy by Cody Vanriper on November 17, 2011

Its that time of year unfortunately, when many parts of the world are heading into their winter season, including us here in Canada. The one challenge that I’ve always had, is keeping my skin soft and smooth, without drying out during the long cold winter. One day, while I was looking around at various cosmetic products, I cam across something called, Argan oil. Now, many people probably never heard of this oil before. In part, because until recently, it wasn’t in the North American market place.

However, I thought in today’s article, I would share some interesting tips on this organic argan oil. You see, it originates both in Africa and Morocco. However, due to problems with over harvesting the oil in Africa, it comes mainly from Morocco. What’s really interesting about Morocco, is that this tree, actually thrives in the desert part of the country. Due to its deep root structure, the Argan oil tree is able to survive.

With cooperation between the local people and the government, they formed a partnership sometime ago. The locals harvest and process the oil and the government has set up distribution capabilities. The oil is now exported around the world and is established in a number of high end spas.

What makes this oil so healthy for your skin? It actually contains one of the richest sources of vitamin E. As well, it contains essentially fatty acids and carotenoids. Together, these nutrients help give the skin a layer of extra protection and help to keep it soft. If you would like more information, simply visit the following link – click here

The Importance of Keeping Your Weight Under Control

Posted in Slimming & Fitness by Cody Vanriper on November 10, 2011

Taking time to look after yourself in a physical as well as cosmetic sense is all part of the important aspects of life. Eating a sensible diet and keeping fit by exercising daily are not only sensible things to do, they are important if you want to enjoy a long, healthy and happy life. Yet so many of us lose sight of what is important and we allow ourselves to get lazy and eat all the wrong foods, which lead to weight gain and health problems down the line.

Noticing the bathroom scales showing an increase in what they showed last week is a clear indicator that things are not right and the sooner we can pull ourselves up and tackle the looming problem, the better chance we have of avoiding any unpleasant consequences. Taking on board some good dieting, fitness and weight loss tips at this stage and putting them into practice is the surest way of halting the slide into what could end up as obesity and ill health. Taking a long hard look at what we are eating and drinking should be the first step in making the necessary changes to keeping our weight under control. Looking at our lifestyle and spotting areas where we are not being as active as we could be is another important step.

Above all, we should try to maintain a positive mental attitude when it comes to our health. That’s because feeling positive and upbeat about ourselves brings about a subconscious motivating force that can help us to take action before it’s too late.

Can You Pick Up A Nail Fungus Infection At The Spa?

Posted in Health And Wellbeing by Cody Vanriper on November 8, 2011

Unfortunately the answer is yes.   The fact of the matter is there are around 37 million people in the US with a nail fungus infection. That’s approximately 10% of the population. That means one in every 10 people using the spa on average is infected and can pass the condition to others.

As fungal organisms thrive in damp environments you are most at risk if you walk around barefoot in public places like the locker room or shower rooms. The chlorine (bromine or other disinfectant) used in the spa itself will be effective at destroying the infected spores, so you’re generally not at risk once you’re in the water.   But walking around barefoot on damp floors is less safe.

If you decide to have a pedicure or manicure at the spa make sure that all the nail instruments that are being used for you have been very thoroughly sterilized.    I’m pretty sure I picked up my nail fungus after having a pedicure. Now when I book an appointment I always make sure that I bring along my own equipment.

It is thought that any damage or trauma to the skin surrounding the nails provides an easy entry point for the fungal spores. This is another reason why a pedicure can put you at risk because the skin around your nails as well as the nail itself is often pushed back and manipulated during the process.

Finding a Good Diet Delivery Plan

Posted in Healthy Eating by Cody Vanriper on August 2, 2011

While you are searching which diet is best for you, there are several aspects to look at carefully. If you are considering a diet delivery plan where they pre-package and send the food to your doorstep, this is necessary to consider. What you need to remember is how affordable the plan is, is it going to fit your way of life and how simple and easy is the plan. Is the diet meal easy to carry to your job? Is there something unusual that it involves? Will you be able to have a meal at restaurants any longer? What about social gatherings?

One other essential issue to analyze when thinking about diet delivery plans is the menu. Will I like the foods suggested on the menu? How much variety is there? How big is the menu? Do they accommodate special needs, like suffering from diabetes or being a vegetarian? How regularly will they change up the menu to inspire you to stay on the plan? And too, can you order a la carte to avoid eating foods you don’t like? Numerous programs either don’t have this option or they make a la carte ordering so expensive that it it’s simply a waste of money.

The best diet is the one that makes you feel like you’re not dieting. The word “diet” sounds restrictive and limiting. So don’t think of yourself as if you are on a diet, but rather changing your lifestyle to improve your overall health. Maintaining optimal health should be a life-long goal.
