Tips for Getting Beauty Products for Free

Posted in Beauty Supply by Clinton Maddalena on February 12, 2012

If you don’t have a lot of money to spend on beauty products there are a few different ways that you can get some beauty products for free. It may take some time and effort on your part but if it means you don’t have to pay $20 for makeup, then it is worth it.

First, check for any free trials that the beauty company may offer. I was able to score a Hydrolyze free trial and was able to decide if this eye cream really worked before I bought it. I know a lot of companies have free trials for certain products, but just be sure you read the fine print because you don’t want to end up paying the next month because you signed up for a monthly service.

Facebook is huge nowadays and just about every makeup, hair care and skincare company has a business page on Facebook. A lot of these companies will actually have offers where you if you “like” them on Facebook they will send you a free sample. Check out your favorite brands on Facebook to see if they are running and specials and if you “like” them on Facebook you can keep up with any free offers they may have in the future.

You can also check out blogs and websites that are geared towards beauty products and freebies online. This is how I got a free sample size of the stretch mark cream Celtrixa. I found the deal posted on a website and got my free sample in the mail about 3 weeks later. You can subscribe to these websites so you get the notifications in your email.

If you want something for free sometimes all you have to do is ask. This doesn’t always work, but if you email or send a letter to some beauty companies they may give you coupons or even free samples. All you have to do is tell them how much you love their product or add in something like you really like the product but you don’t have enough money to keep up with using it. This doesn’t always work, but for the 10 minutes it takes, it can be worth your while.

Hopefully this gives you some ideas on how you can get some free beauty products and save yourself a lot of money.

2 Eyebrow Shaping Tips to Follow BEFORE Waxing Your Brows

Posted in Makeup Products by Clinton Maddalena on December 8, 2011

For women who need to look their best whenever they leave the house here are two eyebrow shaping tips to follow before waxing or tweezing:

1. if your brows are fair, tint the hair BEFORE shaping. Know how much hair you have to work since peach-fuzz may be invisible, but can provide a means to achieve a more natural shape. Once you can see ALL the hair, then you may choose a shape.

2. many eyebrow shaping tips provide details on how to tweeze / wax but don’t explain how to find the starting / ending points. Using the eye alone may lead to uneven brows or overly thin designs. Before picking up tweezers or getting out the wax, create a design to follow. The best way is by using a professional eyebrow stencil. The starting point can be calculated by measuring an eye. The space between brows is one eye length. Now, place the stencil and draw an outline using a white highlighter pencil.

Once you can see the hair available {because it’s been tinted}, and you have a basic outline to follow, here’s how to wax your eyebrows:

1. Choose a warm wax kit. Heat the wax. Use a spatula to apply a thin layer in the direction of hair growth without getting any inside the outline. Place muslin strips over the wax. Press, then pull in the opposite direction.

2. Tweeze stragglers outside the white outline. Use oil to eliminate excess wax. Apply ice to reduce redness and then a soothing aloe gel. Wait 24 hours for bumps / redness to fade.

Follow these eyebrow shaping tips, and suggestions for how to wax your eyebrows, for monthly maintenance. If it’s your first time, go for professional shaping / waxing to have an initial profile and to get a feel for how to wax your eyebrows at home on your own.

Become An Esthetician And Feel Good About Your Job

Posted in Beauty Therapy by Clinton Maddalena on November 21, 2011

If you enjoy making people look good and feel more confident about themselves consider a career as an esthetician.  Becoming a licensed esthetician and learning how to use specific esthetician equipment will allow you to help others improve their appearance and feel better about themselves.  The confidence they get from this can have a lasting effect.

To become a licensed esthetician you will need to get proper training. The training involves body and Skin Care, hair removal as well as the basic fundamentals of make up.  The exact training will vary based on the specialty you choose and the type of degree you want.  Training can be as quick as 6 months or as long as 2 years.

You will then need to become licensed in the state in which you want to work.  This licensing requires you pass both a written and a practical test.  The license will need to be renewed once every two years to ensure you are current on practices and techniques.

To broaden your appeal to prospective employers it is good to train in a number of techniques and specialties.  Specialties include but are not limited to make up application, skin therapy, basic facials, eyebrow dying or body waxing.  The general curriculum will also focus on nutrition, human anatomy, skin anatomy, sterilization essentials and basic professionalism.

The salary you can expect will depend on the place of work and the services they offer as well as the geographic location and clientele.  This career provides a great deal of flexibility, especially if you are up to date on new services.  You can work in a number of settings from a cutting edge salon to a spa in a resort area.  Or you can even start your own business with some basic equipment, a good location and some basic business training.

Being an esthetician allows you to work with people and empower them to look and feel their best.  Now that’s a career you can feel good about.

What hairstyle is best for you?

Posted in Slimming & Fitness by Clinton Maddalena on October 15, 2011

Have you ever asked yourself: “What hairstyle is best for me?” If you’re like me, you have probably been pondering this question all your life. But the answer is not a simple one. Is your face round or square? The best hairstyles for round faces are very bad for long faces. And vice versa. There is no use blindly copying the hairstyles of famous people or even people you know who look fabulous. What looks beautiful on your best friend may make you look downright unattractive.

Is your hair long? Is it short? Long hairstyles are more versatile. If your hair is very short, you are pretty much stuck with the shape of your own face. But long hair presents many possibilities to reshape your profile and enhance your best feature.

Do you know how to braid hair? Do you know how to put long, thick hair up into a good bun? These skills are invaluable to a woman, especially if she wants to vary her appearance depending on the social situation. During the day, you will want to keep your hair away from your face and to cultivate a professional, well-groomed appearance. But  at night, when you go out on the town, you will want to look wild and intriguing. With long hair styling, this is something you can achieve with very little effort or expense.

Vintage Cherub Figurine

Angel collectors often include cherubs in their collections. Some people think of cherubs and child angels that haven’t grown up. That’s not quite true a cherub is a type of angel. They always seem to be very busy. Like Cupid running around shooting darts into mortals to make them fall in love!

A vintage cherub figurine is beautiful and shows cherubs performing many of their important tasks. You’ll often find a cherub playing many different kinds of instruments – flute, harp, or even guitar. You can look at a vintage figurine and almost hear the music coming out of the figurine.

Victorian Valentine lovers know that cherubs and angels often adorn the beautiful Valentine cards that Victorians loved so much. Vintage cherub figurines will remind you of these cards that profess love so beautifully. In fact if you love to display your favorite Victorian Valentines in ornate picture frames, you might want to consider including some vintage cherub figurines as well.

The vintage style will coordinate beautifully and create a very romantic vignette – perfect for your bedstand or bedroom vanity. Vintage cherub figurines are often white ceramic bisque or porcelain with touches of gold. All of the major figurine names such as Lladro and Capodimonte make cherub figurines.

Girl Figurines from Lladro

A girl figurine is a very special new baby gift. During those late night feedings and colic sessions they’ll remind the tired and sleepy parents of all the fun and joy their growing girl will bring to their lives. Lladro figurines are very beautiful figurines designed and made in Spain.

Girl figurines include little girls playing with the cats and dogs or kittens and puppies. They show them playing with their toys and saying their prayers. Lladro artisans also made figurines with little girls hugging their mothers and fathers. So there’s a Lladro girl figurine for every holiday and event!

Lladro figurines are made to the highest standards are have a quality that is respected around the world. So you can confidently give LLadro figurines as a gift. You can also certainly display them in your own home. Lladro girl figurines are world renown for depicting the important moments in a girls life, as well as the frivolous and relaxed times.

For example I love the Lladro Autumn Girl with doll and school bag. It’s the perfect gift for a girl just starting elementary school. It’s a day that she’ll remember all of her life. The Lladro figurine will be a keepsake gift that she may very well pass on to her own daughter some day.
