Get a Little Luxury with Home Spa Equipment

Posted in Massage Equipment by Clayton Yonker on December 30, 2011

Life can sometimes stress even the calmest of people out, and preventing this from happening can be a rather arduous task in itself. A great way to make life a little less stressful is to get some home spa equipment.

The good news is that home spa equipment can be surprisingly inexpensive, but of course you can always go for a more luxurious route if you want your own sauna, or even some more high quality equipment!

Cheaper spa equipment may be as simple as a small mat which adds bubbles and pressure spray to your bath turning a bath in to your own hot tub. This simple tool can vastly improve the relaxation  of your bath, and nearly anyone can afford it.

Full home spa solutions can get very expensive, but if you leave a stressful but prosprous lifestyle they can be a great investment.  Having a home sauna, hot tub, Foot Spa and Massage Chair can help reduce the knots in your muscles after even the most stressful of days.

While prices do vary a lot, I do suggest that you do not automatically go for the cheapest solution.  Spending a little more can vastly improve your relaxation experience and your stress reduction, even on lower end spa equipment.  This is especially true when you are looking for Massage Equipment, since a little extra design work can provide a much better massage experience.

Sometimes thee reverse can be true when you are looking for high end home spa equipment, you may often find yourself paying more for a brand that gives you the same spa equipment as another brand.

Don’t forget that there are other things you can do to make your lifestyle easier, I picked up a maid service in Austin, TX which gave me a huge amount of extra time each day to get things done!

One Eyelash Curler You Should Avoid At All Costs

Posted in Makeup Products by Ted Blass on December 29, 2011

Let me start of this dreary New Year’s Eve with my sad tale of makeup blunder and almost accidental blindness.

I was running around getting ready for my best friend’s Christmas wedding last week and as I was the maid of honor I wanted to look my very best.  I had read this review of the Laura Mercier eyelash curler and thought it would be a  big improvement over my old lash curler.  Unfortunately things did not quite turn out so well.

It was about three hours before the wedding and I had just finished curling my hair.  I was then going to put on my face and do my eye makeup and I was super excited to use my new eyelash curler.  This turned out to be a more than baffling experience.

To this day I do not know if it is because I have an odd face shape or if the curler is just not made to fit any human face.  I tried using the curler parallel to my eyes but it couldn’t even grab onto my eyelashes.  I then tried to position it straight at my eyes and ended up poking my eye instead.  So now there’s less than two hours before the wedding, I’m running around half dressed with tears streaming down my face and my right eye is now blood red. Fortunately the bride came to my rescue and helped me put on my makeup.  The scary red eye faded by the time the wedding started and the wedding went off without a hitch.  Although to this day I still cannot touch an eyelash curler without wincing.

Taking Care of Your Body to Get Rid of Acne

Posted in Beauty Therapy by Lance Grinstead on December 26, 2011

When people see blemishes and acne on their face, they often rush to find the fastest solution possible. Some creams mislead customers because they make it seem like you can apply them to your face and get rid of individual pimples right away. But it’s important to remember that there’s not a lot you can do about the blemishes that have already developed. Acne is a natural process and it has a timeline just like anything else. By the time a pimple forms on your face, there has already been a blockage in your pores and a reaction to the bacteria trapped inside. Sometimes all you can do is continue to wash your skin and hope for the best while realizing that your pimple will die down naturally anyways.

acneIt’s not all about creams and medication when it comes to acne care, although those are definitely important components. But if you only concentrate on just one or two key areas, you won’t be giving yourself the best shot for clear skin. It’s people who take an overarching comprehensive approach that usually get better results with their overall skincare. You should never discount the importance of taking care of your body and what it takes to maintain your overall health. Healthy living factors won’t directly get rid of acne, but they will combine with your medication and treatment to make them far more effective. That’s why you should definitely look to bolster your overall health if you’re dealing with how to get rid of acne more efficiently.

Hydration is absolutely essential for acne care, and it’s one of the factors that gets overlooked on a regular basis. In fact, it takes a little bit more to keep your skin moisturizers because acne care products contain quite a few harsh chemical ingredients. This is why you need to take care of the situation internally and externally with an overall approach. Make sure that you drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated while avoiding sugary beverages or anything that contains too much caffeine. A good moisturizer also goes along way, and never discount the importance of a quality sunscreen to protect yourself from UV radiation.

You can also benefit from stress reduction while organizing your daily schedule to include exercise and better eating habits. This will improve circulation and take a lot of the pressure off of your skin and his constant battle with impurities and possible blockages. Sleep is one factor you should never neglect because skin definitely suffers from a lack of good rest on a regular basis. These are some of the basic things to consider when dealing with how to get rid of blackheads and acne, and you should definitely consult a dermatologist for ideas on the best medications for your particular skin type.

3 Effective Skin Care Products for Acne

Posted in Beauty Therapy by Ted Blass on December 23, 2011

Finding the right Skin Care products for acne can be one of the biggest challenges you face when dealing with problem skin. There’s lots of choice out there, but that doesn’t mean every product you see on the shelf is going to help. In fact, chances are most of them are going to prove completely ineffective in one way or another. Sometimes it’s a bit of a guessing game and there is a lucky involved as well. It’s rather unfortunate that acne treatments and medications can be so expensive as many people find out firsthand. But the good news is, with a little bit of experience you can streamline your approach and narrow down on the products that will benefit you the most. Here are three of some of the most highly recommended products that have proven to be effective for a wide range of people.

The Clarisonic Mia Sonic – washing your face will always be one of the most important aspects of general acne care. A lot of people don’t take the time to do it properly or the time to do it at all. It’s important to keep up a regular routine, and for many people that means once in the morning and one time before you go to bed at night time. This handy little device helps to make things more efficient by providing sonic power that clears your face of blockages and impurities. It gives you far more effective action than if you were to use your hands alone, and it allows for better absorption of your favorite acne products. You’ll also enjoy the fact it is relatively affordable, usually hovering at a price around $40.

Cetaphil Products – there are many cleansers on the market but not many are as recommended as Cetaphil. They provide a nice gentle soothing cleanser that can be used on a regular basis while hydrating your skin at the same time. Most cleansers on the market can dry your skin with simple washing because they are way too harsh for your skin. Cetaphil is an all-natural approach that does not contain any additives that will aggravate your skin any further. That’s why dermatologist love it so much, and they recommended for acne in addition to regular skin as well. There is a great moisturizer and a wonderful sunscreen in their line that can also be added to your routine to bolster your approach.

Neutrogena Skin ID – people dealing with how to get rid of acne have long been clamoring for a more customized approach. Generic products don’t work as advertised, and it’s difficult to find something designed specifically for you without going to a dermatologist first. Neutrogena has listened to their customer base and provided the skin ID system that is available online. After an assessment of your skin, you’ll be recommended a series of products that are reflective of your answers. You give information on gender, age, skin background, and other mitigating factors that could ultimately affect your face. Skin ID comes back with a recommendation for a complete system that should help repress the factors that lead to acne formation.

Does Beauty Start with Your Weight?

Posted in Health And Wellbeing by Clinton Maddalena on December 22, 2011

Most people seem to believe that beauty comes from the outside. So, they seem to believe that beauty is from how skinny you are and how beautiful your body is. The truth is that beauty doesn’t come from your weight. In fact, your weight has very little to do with how pretty you look. Beauty comes from within and on the inside. If you struggle with your weight, remember that you are beautiful just the way you are; however, it’s important for you to know that losing weight is still important for your health and body. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you aren’t beautiful.

Do Not Neglect Inner Beauty

Posted in Health And Wellbeing by Cody Vanriper on December 21, 2011

Beauty is a priority for everyone. The market for cosmetic products, Skin Care essentials, bath products, and so many other accessories for both women and men is huge enough to be considered a substantial chunk of the retail market. Billions of dollars worth of purchases are tallied yearly by traditional and online retailers of beauty and wellness products.

Many studies have shown that self-esteem and confidence are related to how someone views their personal beauty and look. When someone is confident about their looks, their skin, their general appearance, they tend to perform better at work, relate better with people, and have a generally better sense of what they can do because of that boost of confidence. On the other hand, uncertainty about personal appearance can hamper productivity and stifle opportunities for development.

Fitness centers, gyms, and exercise equipment have also become part of daily routines as more and more people strive to achieve that perfect physique. After all, what good would many beauty products on your skin be if you are not in shape, right? Conveniences and easier ways of achieving that great body such as at-home routines, supplements, and ab belts are also being marketed heavily. They are also more affordable, with special promos offered such as the flex belt coupon for free shipping or discounts.

The prioritization of personal appearance does not have to be excessive or harmful to your personal well-being, because there are benefits that can certainly be obtained such as a healthier and stronger body if you work out, or delaying skin aging if you use creams and topical treatments. Outward appearance, however, cannot fill that need for fulfillment, achievement, and true happiness. What we need to remember is to also make the inside grow and develop in step with any improvements for the outside.

2 Eyebrow Shaping Tips to Follow BEFORE Waxing Your Brows

Posted in Makeup Products by Clinton Maddalena on December 8, 2011

For women who need to look their best whenever they leave the house here are two eyebrow shaping tips to follow before waxing or tweezing:

1. if your brows are fair, tint the hair BEFORE shaping. Know how much hair you have to work since peach-fuzz may be invisible, but can provide a means to achieve a more natural shape. Once you can see ALL the hair, then you may choose a shape.

2. many eyebrow shaping tips provide details on how to tweeze / wax but don’t explain how to find the starting / ending points. Using the eye alone may lead to uneven brows or overly thin designs. Before picking up tweezers or getting out the wax, create a design to follow. The best way is by using a professional eyebrow stencil. The starting point can be calculated by measuring an eye. The space between brows is one eye length. Now, place the stencil and draw an outline using a white highlighter pencil.

Once you can see the hair available {because it’s been tinted}, and you have a basic outline to follow, here’s how to wax your eyebrows:

1. Choose a warm wax kit. Heat the wax. Use a spatula to apply a thin layer in the direction of hair growth without getting any inside the outline. Place muslin strips over the wax. Press, then pull in the opposite direction.

2. Tweeze stragglers outside the white outline. Use oil to eliminate excess wax. Apply ice to reduce redness and then a soothing aloe gel. Wait 24 hours for bumps / redness to fade.

Follow these eyebrow shaping tips, and suggestions for how to wax your eyebrows, for monthly maintenance. If it’s your first time, go for professional shaping / waxing to have an initial profile and to get a feel for how to wax your eyebrows at home on your own.

The Most Expensive Eye Makeup In The World

Posted in Makeup Products by Cody Vanriper on December 6, 2011

Yesterday, I saw something that I never before thought possible – makeup that costs over $1000!  Don’t take me wrong, I like to spend money on makeup, but anything that would require me to go take out a $1000 cash loan just to pay for just isn’t worth it.  You want to know the saddest part of the whole experience?  There were three, yes three, people in line who were PURCHASING THE MAKEUP!  For someone who spends at the most $100 on any makeup, I just really couldn’t believe it.

Ok, so some background so you can understand why someone would go into debt for some makeup:

I was traveling in Beverly Hills and decided that I had to go to Rodeo Drive and do the ‘Pretty Women’ thing and do a little window shopping down Rodeo Drive.  I went in about four stores before I realized that I didn’t really belong.  All the workers were looking at me like “Yeah, she’s not buying anything”…and they were right, especially at the Gucci store (which is where I found the makeup that is outrageously priced).

Of course, most everyone who was there to actually purchase something is in a different financial position than I am, but really – does anyone need to spend that much money on anything that you will wash off at night?  I don’t think so.  So, being as outgoing as I am, I decided I would ask someone why they were purchasing that makeup.  Bad decision.  The first person I asked just turned their nose up (literally, I never realized that people actually do that) and the second pretended I didn’t exist.  The third person who finally answered game me a typical “dumb blond” (no offense, I’m blond) answer of ‘why not’?

Bottom line and what I learned: I don’t belong in Beverly Hills, and will sit band and enjoy where I’m at just fine.
