What cars are actually made in USA and in foreign countries?
and of the course made in USA, how much of those parts actually are made in some other countries?
I am really trying to understand just how much of a auto industry the USA actually has that is produced in USA by americans.
One last question….even if a foreign manufacturer makes a complete automobile in USA, why is that not as good for americans compared to an actual american company making cars in USA?
What I think you want to know is what is an “american car” and what defines it. And why should we buy american. That answer is fairly complicated depending upon the criteria.
The easiest way to find out it the parts content of each car. Its right on the window sticker. It will say this car is built with ##% of domestic parts.
Some imports made here are made with domestic parts, but most are not, in fact most imports are just that…imported. Right now there are ten’s of thousands of imports sitting in California because car buying has slowed across the board.
The auto industry goes past the final assembly point, its also the suppliers, the suppliers to the teir 1&2 suppliers, software engineers, lunch service providers, raw material transportation, the dealers the mechanics and so on. All of these jobs are tied in to the B3, even though they don’t get a pay check from them.
The bottom line on buying american vs buy imports. when buying american the money ultimately stays here and keeps many people employed. Buying imports does keep some americans employed, but the profits go overseas to the HQ of Honda or Toyota.
Honda and Toyota have less than 12 plants in the U.S. combined, Ford and GM have over 40 combined. so let me ask you, which company puts more americans to work?

What are names of domestic clothing factories in the united states? MADE IN USA?
preferably new york area, but the rest of the united states is ok as well. please no companies that have headquarters here but produce out of the country. MADE IN USA ONLY.
