What white gas stove best combines an adjustable flame level and light weight?
I’m looking for a white gas stove for backpacking that is light weight but has the ability to have its flame adjusted for simmering. I’ve read multiple reviews of stoves like MSR’s Simmerlite that say it really doesn’t have simmering capabilities. Any suggestions?
Obviously the MSR Simmerlite isnt going to have the simmer capabilities as your kitchen stove, but it has the best simmering capabilities among light weight camping stoves….whether they are liquid fueled or canister. I own and use the simmerlite in conditions that arent great for Ultra Light weight canister stoves- cold temps and high altitude.
Compared to other stoves I believe the simmerlite has the widest range of flame control, from simmer to blowtorch. If you go to any good outdoor store they`ll do a demo for you, I know REI and Campmor do it.
