How to care for a passion fruit tree?
I was given a passion fruit vine. I live in southern California. How do I care for it? Does it require shade or sun? When should I fertilize, so it gives fruits. Any information would be appreciated.
Full sun and lots of space. They grow like weeds when they are happy. A very strong trellis is a good idea cuz when they get a couple of years old the wood is really thick and hard. I would not fertilize until is settles in and is happy. No not over water when first planted, then after a couple of months you can water as much as you like, it won’t matter much. You also need to make sure there are a lot of bees available for fertilization, and protection from birds. Plant some other vine that will attract bees about 10 ft. from it or some lavender at the bottom of the vine.
