Slimming Belt? Does it really work?

Avon slimming belt ? Anyone tried it? Did it work? Or is it just a waste of money?
Thanks for the details Raj, Talking abt treadmil and heart rate when i had just join the gym my heartrate was 180bpm someone said i should be lower then 150 and now its down below 140. I am not sure if i am doing this rite? Wat u reckon?

no, it really really doesn’t. since i just wrote someone a plan, i’ll post it for you. not sure if you wanna see it, but i can guarentee you that in a bout 4-6 months, you can have a significantly improved body.

the maximum you should be losing each week healthfully is 2 pounds. of course you can take a little bit more off if ur counting water weight but honestly, 30 pounds in 3 months is possible but difficult and if you don’t do it properly, it can be pretty bad for you.

1. try to eat 5-7 meals a day. these should be well portioned meals that don’t include too many extras. this will keep your metabolism going. keep it simple. for example,

a. in the morning, you could have a little fruit, preferably something like an apple skin and all so that ur getting ur fiber. u can also try some oatmeal or if your on the run, a quick protein shake with milk.
b. your second meal could be something with some low glycemic index carbs in it. oatmeal or some whole wheat pasta or maybe some brown rice and veggies. try not to exceed 400 calories per meal also.
c. this is where u wanna start wheening off the carbs. u can have a salad or some grilled chicken or tuna etc. the general rule is too try and minimize your carb intake after 2
d. you could mix in another protein shake or maybe some fish(salmon, cod, tilapia etc.)
e. you get the idea, something low carb.

2. don’t eat within 3 hours of sleeping. this is a good time to catch up on ur water intake. you should take in atleast a gallon a day.

3. i see that you mentioned that you spend 30 mins. on the treadmill 5 times a week. that is great, but in addition, you might wanna try and mix in some lifting. i don’t mean being a bodybuilder, but lifting weights also boosts your metabolism and actually burns calories for a longer period of time(though not as many as cardio) cardio boosts your caloric intake for about 2 hours where lifting can boost it for up to 6.

4. adding some supplements can also be helpful. taking a multivitamin every day is essential on a reduced calorie diet to make sure your getting all of the nutrients you need. if you aren’t getting all your nutrients, you may be stunting your progress. also, supplementing some vitamin b before your workout with some cla’s can be pretty helpful. there are a lot of weight loss supplements out there, but most rely on caffeine and other unhealthy sources to achieve the results. most heavily advertised weight loss supplements are thermogenics, i would recommend staying away from them. some claim l carnitine is helpful for weight loss and there are many other supplements, but from experience, cla’s and vitamin b work pretty well and are not bad for you at all.

5. when your on the treadmill, try to keep your heartrate up. you won’t lose as much weight if you are walking for 30 minutes and your heartrate isn’t really changing much. a jog that gets you to about 60-70% of your max heartrate will achieve the best results. it is not good to really sprint either. one technique ppl use that i like is called hiit(high intensity interval training). you trade off btw some running that is challenging for you and some light jogging. it is said that this technique helps burn more calories than you may burn at the average speed you are traveling. it is also not too hard to keep this up for a pretty decent amount of time

6. in your final week, you can try flushing the waterweight out too shed off those extra pounds. stick to all the above advice, including the gallon a day, but do your best to avoid sodium. also, you can supplement some caffiene to flush out the excess water. this does not mean drink soda’s b/c soda’s by no means are a part of a good weight loss routine.

i hope this helps. i was able to lose 20 pounds in about 4 months using the above advice. during that time, i spent about an hour to an hour and a half in the gym 5-6 days a week. this was with 45 minutes to an hour of lifting and 30 minutes of cardio. the reason that weight loss doesn’t seem too significan’t is that i managed to retain most of my muscle, and in the final month, i actually gained some musclemass. i went from being flabby w/ love handles to having a 4 pack and i felt a ton better and more energetic. gl with w/e you choose to do, and remember, the best thing you can do is stay dedicated and keep to your routine. if you do that, you will be able to reach your goal.

Is there anyone here who has used a slimming belt religiously and get results? Thanks?

If you fasten it really tight it might look as if you’ve lost weight, but in all honesty I would not entertain the thought of one of these devices helping you for a second.
