Belt Massager
Belt Massagers/ Vibration?

We bought a treadmill a while ago and there is a multiways massager built with it. You can put it around your thigh or waist and it keeps on vibrating. Some of my friends think it helps with losing weight. Is that true? If so, how long should I use it to actually burn the unwanted fat? And how does it help?

those massagers will only massage you-

NOT help you lose weight- those things were touted decades (maybe even turn of the last century- 1800s-1900s) to promote weight loss-

guess what?

they never worked. you might find an old commercial or video in black and white of a bunch of old geezers that are fat strapped to these rather odd “massage” belt machines for a good laugh on youtube though.

as for you- well maybe you can use the massager for a vibe of sorts.

Is this a good highschool science fair experiment?

I am trying to see which protective measures against earthquakes hold up best. To do this, I’m using a belt massager as the earthquake, a needle as the building, and marshmallows for base isolation, epoxy glue for pile foundation and plasticine for reinforced building materials.

I use the materials for the methods one at a time. I stick a needle into one of the materials (which is glued to a cardboard by epoxy glue) and measure how much the needle travels back and forth with a ruler.

ex. stick needle into marshmallow, glue marshmallow onto cardboard, turn on belt massager, measure movement of needle.
Is this a good science fair experiment??

well yes it is good idea for measurement but something more like showing which types of buildings oscillate less by their measurements.
