Does anyone know anything about hand, foot, and mouth in infants?

A child in my son’s early learning school came down with “hand, foot, and mouth” disease. My wife and I would like as much info as possible as we are worried about our son going back for a few days. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Most informative gets an easy 10! Would like info tonight please…Thanks

Have you seen a foot or hand come out your belly?

I know the father along you get the less room the baby has to move and you might see a foot or hand or something swoop across your belly. But can you actually see the outline of a hand or foot? Or just a big bump?

I am 40 weeks, and was always very thin, and I have never seen an actual foot or hand. All I ever see is my belly stick our where baby is stretching her arms and legs out. Still really neat, and I can tell it is her foot or hand, but can’t actually see the fingers and all that.

What is wrong with my Pug? Please Help!?

We got a pug recently about 3 weeks ago. He is nearly 3 months old. On Monday at around 4 am he started barking in an unusual way that we had never heard him do. Ever since that morning he eats very little and a couple of minutes ago he woke up but he looked scared and was walking around and we would call him and he wouldn’t stop he was walking with his head tilted to the side and when I picked him up he then had foam coming out and was shaking. We took him to the Vet and they said it was normal, but he has never done that since the time we have had him. He would also vomit and since he eats very little. He sleeps facing upward. Its our first dog we have. Is all of this normal?

Agree, this is not normal, please find a new vet.

How do you get good foam from your cappuccino maker?

We bought a little “cappuccino bar” and I just can’t get the foam right, despite the fact that I did it for a living a few years ago! Have I just lost the knack or is there something I’m forgetting?
What I’ve been doing so far: using cold 2% milk, a small stainless steel jug, tilting it at an angle, inserting the steam nozzle just a little under the surface.
What am I doing wrong?

wand (is that what its called?) is clean (machine is brand new),
I’m using enough milk for 2 cups of coffee (approx 100 – 150ml?),
I have tried all levels of submergence and still get bubbly,
am steaming as long as I can with only slight foaming and then the milk gets too hot and starts boiling,
and as for the machine – it was the cheapest one (Mellerware) and as far as I can tell it produces adequate steam, but how can I be sure??

Is wand clean inside and out? Are you using right amount of milk? After inserting wand just below surface, submerge wand further, to avoid a bubbly foam. Are you steaming long enough? Remember cappuccino is a free pour, so when milk is at right temp, don’t let it sit!

And finally, is it a good machine? Does it produce adequate pressure? Hate to ask that.

We bought a treadmill a while ago and there is a multiways massager built with it. You can put it around your thigh or waist and it keeps on vibrating. Some of my friends think it helps with losing weight. Is that true? If so, how long should I use it to actually burn the unwanted fat? And how does it help?

I am trying to see which protective measures against earthquakes hold up best. To do this, I’m using a belt massager as the earthquake, a needle as the building, and marshmallows for base isolation, epoxy glue for pile foundation and plasticine for reinforced building materials.

the pain is still there, and comes back like a pulse and it hurts quite a bit when it does.

Whichever side is affected, drop the same shoulder away from the neck and pull the head in the opposite direction, or shrug your head and shoulders as hard as you can. Either way will help lessen the tension. Then gently roll head and shoulders, side to side, front to back.

Nah, it happens to me sometimes too. I think it’s just a muscles way of “settling”. I’m sure there’s a more scientific explanation, but I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

Should I get my mani/pedi from a friend?

I have a friend that does nails. She is very good and just moved to a new lux spa in our city. I have someone else I’ve been going to for a while and I like her. The new place charges $57 (basic) for a mani/pedi and I’m used to paying only $50 and that includes all the extras, plus polish. How should I tell my friend that I don’t want to pay so much even though she needs the business since she’s new at this spa?

Wow, that’s pricey! It’s a good rule to never mix business and pleasure.

It’s considerate that you care about her and her success. That’s friendship enough. If your money will make or break her, then she’ll need a lot more help that your bi-monthly business anyway. Friends don’t pressure friends into patronizing thier business. I’ve lost a lot of friends who decided that Amway, Mary Kay, whatever, was more important than our friendship.

In the end, your/our friend’s business usually isn’t a long-lasting career; and sometimes a friend is lost – sometimes over $50 +/-. Not worth it. Simply tell her that your budget doesn’t allow manis/pedis that exceed the industry standard.

I bought my daughter an old beauty salon chair for her room and would like to recover it in a funky fabric to match her room. I need some simple how-tos to get the job done. Any ideas would be very much appreciated since I’ve never recovered anything before.

Depends on how good your sewing skills are.

Take the chair completely apart.

Carefully remove the upholstery from each piece of chair to make a pattern for the new fabric.

Make the piping, and baste it to one piece.

Sew all the fabric pieces together and place each complete section back onto the section of the chair it came from. Staple it to the frame. Mark the screw holes so you’ll know where they are.

Re-assemble the chair.

This is a simple as a simple job gets.
