Pain Therapy
Have you ever heard of sex for Back Pain therapy…?

I take aquatic (water) therapy for chronic back pain caused by arthritis and bone spurs in my spine. Today I asked my therapist, ” when I was sexually active (3 yrs. ago) I wasn’t bothered with back pain, and why is that?” She explained some different positions that actually help ease back pain. “No”, I won’t go into details here… ( : ! I’m not currently in a relationship, so another question is, would you get into one for sex alone? Or just do “booty calls”…? lol Sex for therapy sounds kind of weird to me but, I sure like the idea..!

Bone spurs are small growths of bone, in the wrong place. Bone is a living part of the body, so is always remodeling, however some times it goes a wee but wrong and you get spurs. The best way to prevent spurs is ‘exercise’ and if you do a certain exercise, you can actually wear the bone spur away. Many do not due to the pain factor. So sex would be termed exercise, find the right position required and off you go! Umm no, personally I would just go for the correct exercise, something like Pilate’s. Best of Luck

My husband is on Coumadin (sp?) therapy. Are there any pain relievers he can take?

He had a saddlebag pulmonary embolism in September and will be on anticoagulant therapy the rest of his life. He says there are no pain relievers he can take per his MD. Knowing him as I do, he may not have really pursued the topic with his doc. Do any of you AVers know of any OTC and/or homeopathic remedies he can take for pain? We already use ice packs and heating pads as appropriate.
Thanks!

He definitely cannot take aspirin as that is a blood thinner and he probably does not need any more of that.

There may be some pain releivers he can take but he must check with his doctor or pharmacist to find a compatible pain killer.
