Trigger Point
Are thoractic trigger point injections required to be done under fluoroscopy?

Are these injections required to be done under fluoroscopy or is it safe to be done in the doctor’s office ? Is it normal for the doctor to insert a bunch of needles at different areas then inject them one at a time with the medication ?

Sincere, there is no reason to have them done under fluoroscopic procedures unless they are to facet joints. Specific trigger points are usually done to soft tissue and it is a “feel” procedure for the doctor. Yes they often use the same needle. I would also suggest that you try these movements to see if they help you. Sit in a straight chair and twist to the left as far as you can and note the degree of rotation achieved. Now twist to the right and note that degree. One direction is going to turn further than the other so start in the direction that turns the furthest. Twist in that direction as hard and far as you can for 30 seconds and then rest for 15 seconds. Repeat this twice more exactly the same way and then do the opposite direction exactly the same way 3 times. Next, raise your left arm up as high as it can go and note the height and return the arm to your side and now do the right arm the same way. One arm will go up higher than the other so start with that arm. Raise that arm up as high and hard as you can for 30 seconds and then rest for 15 seconds. Repeat that twice more on that arm and then do the opposite arm exactly the same way 3 times. Lastly, turn the head to the left as far as it can go and note the degree of rotation achieved and then turn to the right and note the degree achieved. Start with the direction that turned the furthest. Turn in that direction as far and hard as you can for 30 seconds and then rest for 15 seconds. Repeat this twice more and then do the opposite direction exactly the same way 3 times. Get up and move around. There should be less pain and more mobility present. Do these movements at least twice a day.

Does anyone know the meaning of each trigger point?

Trying to know if trigger points and pressure points mean the same. Where would it be to heal the eyes. I hope I didnt make it confusing.

Trigger points are highly irritated points on a muscle that can cause referred pain as well as localized pain.
Pressure points are points which relate to organs, systems and other specific ailments, injuries, diseases and energy meridians. They can be used to relax, strengthen and weaken point affected areas in order to effect positive change to said area.
Look for a book called Accupressure’s Potent Points: A Guide to Self-Care for Common Ailments by Michael Reed Gach. It is an excellent book in the education and instruction on the many potent points of the body. They work very well too. Give it a try.

has anyone lived near an electric substation and had health problems?

I am thinking of buying a property about 50 yards from an electic substation and concerned about health and the value of the property on resale

I used to live about 20 ft from an electric sub station. after 18 years I found it caused no heath problems. Resale value? I bought for £63k, sold for 210k.

Cradle of Filth Karaoke?
haha i don’t mean to be rude, but i don’t think such a thing exists.
just look up some lyrics and use garage band to remove the vocals.
or, better yet get the tabs and learn it on an instrument as well and record you and others only playing the song instrumentally and use that for karaoke.
whatever you do, keep it filthy

Chair Therapy
ladies would you still date a guy after you witnessed him laugh and name call a young girl with Leukemia?

Like he started to make jokes towards this young girl in a wheel chair whom is suffering painful kemo therapy treatments. Making fun of the fact that she has no hair or eyebrows, and calling her a freak causing her to cry.

Would you still date the guy, knowing he is mean spirited but the same time extremely good looking.

Nope. You can tell a lot about people by how they treat others. He may be nice to you now, but he’s just going to end up treating you like that. Also, looks aren’t forever. If you are looking for something long lasting, he needs to have a good personality.

Massage therapy vs Certified Nursing Assistant?

I’m a 20 year old male. Strong hands and a strong sense of altruism are some of my features.

Ive thought about becoming a massage therapist through a local program taught by Memorial Hermann. After learning the main program, I would also build on my knowledge by taking additional training offered through the same organization in sports massage, Cryostreych/Cryokinetic Therapy, Deep Tissue and chair massage.

However, being male, I am sure finding steady employment will be a challenge.

This then brings me to the occupation of Certified nursing assistant. More demand, and steadier employment, but less money, I think.

Which one would be a good choice?

Thanks.

You can do both.

The Massage training will take longer.
You can consider Sports Medicine as a male –work on Athletes that require more strength in massage and other modalities–could be w/ a Sports clinic or a team or a school program–College.
Later you could also teach.

The training for a Certified Nursing Assistant–CNA–is about 6-8 weeks. As a male you are good for the Heavy Duty work of many patients, Nursing homes employ many male CNAs. There is also Assisted Living Communities that don’t require CNA certification yet. They train you as a Care Manager and you do many of the same duties.
You are right, the pay is much less but more dependable hours. The work is also not easy but rewarding however

You could work part-time as a Massage therapist and full-time as a CNA or the reverse. You would get a steady income as well as gravy money for the other job and do good at the same time.

Also consider a Chiropractor as a place to work, many use them as part of a treatment plan.

Best wishes

Chair Lounger

Chair Lounger
Anyone know how to repair the ratcheting mechanism on those lounger-type lawn chairs?

The symptom is that the ratchet doesn’t “click” and hold in either certain positions or sometimes in any position. Every chair like this I have ever owned has eventually had to be discarded because the ratcheting mechanism broke. Links to an illustrated site that details how this can be repaired would be much appreciated.

Because got $9.95 you can by an entire new chair, not worth fixing. Try maintance with wd-40 on your new one and it will last longer.

Ijoy Ottoman
massage chairs?

I’ve been looking for a good Massage Chair for under $800 (preferably less) with the Leg Massager. I’m interested in the ijoy 320, but I can’t fint it for under $999 anywhere! Any suggestions?

I did find an ijoy 100 with ottoman for $500+ but I haven’t tried the ijoy 100. Is it worth it?

I purchased on for $250 on special at Kmart reg price was $450 however it does the complete body in pulsating vibrations. The type of massage you want depends on what your personal preference is. My son has a chair insert $250 which gives a shiatzu style massage. My advice is to watch out for specials, ask stores for their best offer and offer cashe, you’d be surprised how far they can drop something. Try ebay, if all else fails suggesst to your family and pitch in and pay for some of it for you for Christmas.

Ijoy Ottoman

Have you tried the ijoy ottoman 2.0?

I want to get it for my parents. What is your opinion if you have tried it?
I saw that..i think the leg massager is basically the same thing, but connected to the chair..does any of your friends have problems with the fit for their legs?

I haven’t tried the ottoman, but some friends of mine have an iJoy massage chair at their home. It’s upholstered in soft leather and has all kinds of massage options, from shiatsu to lumbar, as well as a separate footrest where you can rest your calves in it and have them massaged with optional heat.

Remote control wired to the thing lets you control the massage and other stuff. Cool product.

EDIT: Not really, my friends are a couple around 5’9″ or so, average weight, they’re comfortable with the fit and so was I but I’m not sure if the leg width is adjustable.

why does lotion peel???

Why does lotion peel or roll….lk when ur giving sum1 a massage…why does it lk get in rolls or lk peel.???
thanks everyonee! and its not on me lol…i give my friend massages…

Because everyone sheds dead skin all the time but it’s not always visible to the eye. When you add moisture to it and massage it…over and over again, I think it is more obvious and shows. Plus you are helping it to “shed”.

When most of us put lotion on that doesn’t happen unless we are shedding and peeling from a more obvious situation like a sunburn or major dry skin. But when you rub it in repetitively I think it assists in the shedding process.

I didn’t look this information up but this is just top of my head knowledge…not scientific or anything. But that first statement is true…..if you want a more scientific and precise answer look it up but for the most part I believe this to be true.
