My neck and back had been stiff and sore for over a week, so finally last night after work I stopped by a Shiatsu massage parlor for a quick 15-minute rub down.

as far as how long you should wait depends on if you pain comes back again. If it doesn’t then you don’t have to go back. if it does then talk to you therapist for a recommendation of when you should go back, or just wait til the soreness goes away completely.

Is it true that you are naked during the body scrub & massage at a Korean Spa?

I have a gift certificate to a Korean spa in Los Angeles but after seeing some of the reviews I’m a little nervous about going. I made an appointment for a body scrub and massage. Apparently, from what I’ve read, you lie completely naked on a wet table where they use scrub mittens and scrub you everywhere including your breasts, butt crack, and your genital area. A massage on the same table follows with the same person. Has anyone ever tried this? Is it as invasive as it sounds?

That sounds pretty accurate. It’s not as bad as it sounds though.

In the bathhouse of a Korean spa, everybody’s completely naked. There are different bathhouses for men and women. Everybody is clothed in the areas of the spa where men and women are together.

If you’ve never been naked in front of a bunch of other women before, it may be a little bit of a shock, but you’ll get over it soon enough. If you think people are staring at you, try and ignore it, but odds are, nobody’s going to stare at you unless you try and cover yourself up with the tiny towel they give you.

The body scrub is an interesting and refreshing experience. Sure, it’s kind of odd at first, and it might hurt a little bit, depending on how hard the lady is scrubbing, but it’s really not that bad. If you can explain to them that it’s your first time, I’m sure they’ll be a little easier on you. They do scrub your breasts, butt crack and genital area, but they don’t really “get in there” with their scrubbing.

After the scrub and massage, your body actually feels very good. Don’t be shy and give it a try!

Ah…before you get your scrub, be sure to soak in the tubs with the hot water for a while…that might help make the dead skin come off easier.

You could try www.readitswapit.co.uk or www.greenmetroplis.com – both secondhand book sites that I use frequently. You could also check/put a post on the boards at college as Im sure others have done the course and may want to get rid of their manuals.

Why do indians get so much facial and body hair?

I could understand why european people get a lot of hair..northern and eastern europe is brutally cold especially in the winter and the body and facial hair keeps them warm during those times of year..but why do indians get so much hair? India is horrendously hot and tropical all year round(comparable to florida and mexico) with the exceptions of the himalayas and parts of north india in the winter. What evolutionary adaption does lots of facial and body hair serve for indians especially when it is 70-90 degrees all year round.

LOL! The only reason I could give out is that they need the block from the intense sun rays!

Is it harmful to use bleach to lighten facial and body hair when you are pregnant?

Hi, I am 5 week pregnant and I was wondering if it will harm my baby if I use bleach to lighten my facial and body hair. I also use henna to color and condition my hair. is it harmful also? I haven’t used any of it ever since I found out that I’m pregnant. I would also like to know if I can start walking on trademill for exercise. Althought everybody in my family been telling me to do nothing but sit around and wait till it turns three months so that my pregnany will be settled and I won’t have the fear of losing the baby. I would be very greatful if someone could answer my questions.

Don’t do any heavy lifting or running, but walking is just fine. I hope by “bleach” you mean drug store bleach kits, and not actual chlorine bleach, which isn’t safe, period. You can bleach your facial and body hair, just do so in a very well-ventilated area. Peroxide or peroxide cream would be better than normal lightening kits, though. You don’t want to risk inhaling too much ammonia.

You actually have a higher risk of miscarriage later in the pregnancy, when your body has extra weight and mass to adjust to. Just don’t overdo it, and you should be fine.

I would definitely suggest you try SWISS glutathione bar. It depends on what kind of stones they are. I personally use four different types of stones in my clinic work. The first ones I use are called oriental Hot Rocks. They are very large stones heated up very hot. They are laid on the back for about thirty minutes. They are used for relaxation. The second is called a hot stones massage. Where I take smaller heated stones and oil and massage the body with them. It feels fantastic and just turns your muscles into butter. The third is where I take small heated stones and do what’s called a stone facial, and do detail work on the head, face, neck, and shoulders. Again it is for relaxation and I press many shiatsu points for health in those areas, and tightening skin. The last is a crystal healing session, where I use different colored stones and crystals and place them on the different chakras to balance energy. They draw up and out negative energy while bringing in positive energy. I hope that answers your question.
