Question about tattoo..?
I was going to enter hot spa (onsen),ofuru,when i saw the sign,do not enter if u have tattoo,why is that?
Unfortunately, In Japan tattoos are associated with the Yakuza and most public places like hot springs and sauna prohibit entry. We even had to cover our tattoos when we worked at public schools.

Is it true if you have a tattoo you aren’t allowed to swim in Japanese public pools?
I am about to go to Japan…but my friend told me that in Japan, if you have a tattoo, you aren’t allowed to bathe in public spa’s/pools? That they ban people from showing them in public?
Is this true?!
It depends, i mean if you go to the onsens, then yeah some of them might stop you if the old shits complain. But if you go to the ones that you have to wear bathing suits then you will be fine
